Dr. Wendy is n award-winning researcher, a Nigerian-American television personality and progressive political commentator, a Contributor to The Hill, the Founder and CEO of the 1954 Equity Project, an Assistant Professor at The Johns Hopkins University, and is on hit Bravo TV show Real Housewives of Potomac. Dr. Wendy shares her story about her relationship with her mother, how the approval of her mother which was conditioned by achievements impacted her, and how she is raising her children differently. In her memoir, Tears of My Mother: The Legacy of My Nigerian Upbringing, Dr. Wendy details how her mother was her whole world, but when she became a mother herself everything changed. Navigating difficult mother-daughter relationships can be hard, and Dr. Wendy normalizes her feelings and the guilt that she has experienced.
